When I was a little girl, learning to dress myself, I feel like the one major rule my mom hammered in my head was… “Don’t mix prints!” That philosophy has definitely shifted in the past few years. Now print mixing is on trend and even encouraged. But how do you mix prints without looking like a Rorschach test mashup?
The first rule in print mixing is to remember to mix patterns that are within the same color family. The colors don’t have to match, but they definitely need to coordinate so you don’t end up looking like a clown. Also, it’s important to mix a variety of print sizes. If you wear a large print on top, tone it down with a small, simple print on bottom. Finally, have fun! Print mixing is all about pushing the limits and pulling off a look that other people wouldn’t expect. Stand proud and show off that you are a print mixing master.

Although mixing prints is on trend, it’s a fashion statement centered around standing out and being unique. The bible tells us not to copy others, but to be our own Christ-centered person.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” -Romans 12:2
So be unique this week! Try something new and embrace all the blessings that God has bestowed upon you. This doesn’t have to be within the fashion realm- join a new club, take a class to better yourself or learn something new.
Have a blessed week friends!
